Self love seems like a straightforward action, but are you loving yourself enough? But natural beauty means different things to different people depending on your beliefs, values and cultural background. I've been enjoying watching Rachel Hunter's Tour of Beauty, on the Lifestyle Channel, where she travels around the world exploring different culture's perspective on beauty. From India to South Korea, people's perceptions are vastly different. And just like that saying "art is in the eye of the beholder" so too is the beauty.
We are now, more than ever, exposed to so many different images that influence our perception about natural beauty. And in this day and age, where being digitally connected via multiple devices 24/7 is the norm, many people have ironically lost the ability to connect. Most importantly the ability to communicate to ourselves and our self-worth and love.
Self Love Plays A Role
I see self-worth and self-love as being directly linked, perhaps even the foundation and roots of natural beauty. As beauty does not come from external sources. It's not your circumstances or material possessions. Natural beauty comes from deep within and lives within all of us.
I believe it's about radiating pure joy, gratitude and happiness. It's about heart and soul. It's the sum of many parts of a person. Not just their physical appearance.
Earlier this year we held a series of interviews with our Botani Tribe to find out what was important to them. One of the topics we discussed was how they defined natural beauty. The words they shared with us were beautiful and heartfelt. These are some of their thoughts.
I hope in this crazy over-stimulated world, where we are fed continuously photoshopped images, slogans and taglines, that you can find a way to disconnect from the external noise and chatter to turn within and recognise that you have a special spark within you that is divinely unique and should always be celebrated. Let that unfiltered, unedited, natural beauty radiate from every pore in your body. Because letting your true self-shine is what natural beauty is all about. Author: Rigel.
