Shouldn't Squeeze Pimples

It Pays To Not Be Picky: Why You Shouldn't Squeeze Pimples

Acne Tip 2 - Address your addiction to picking pimples

Time to put it all out on the table; I'm betting that you have picked your pimples before. Whether it be a small upcoming pimple, a pesky blackhead or an unsightly whitehead we've all faced, and given into, the temptation to pop before - I know I for one am a sucker for it! Over the past few weeks I've decided that enough is enough, and that I am going to work at kicking this habit for good! Luckily for me, Botani's founder is a Naturopath and full of advice. Barbara was able to inform me that my picking and popping was doing more damage to my skin than I thought... In fact, by picking I am breaking the skin around the pimple, and introducing new bacteria to the lesion from my hands. She was also keen to highlight that picking my pimples can lead to scars that will be there long after the pimple is gone. I'm guessing that, just like me, your temptation to give that blackhead on your chin a good squeeze is now gone?

So how do you get rid of blackheads and pimples naturally?

My advice, is to use facial products that contain all natural, antibacterial ingredients to assist the acne infection to clear up. Botani's Boost Balancing Moisturiser is my favourite moisturiser for pimple prone skin as it contains organic Australian Lemon Scented Tea Tree Oil to really give acne bacteria the boot.

Why do I think this moisturiser is the best?

  • Firstly, it can be used on all skin types, including oily, dry and sensitive skin.
  • Secondly it is light weight and non-greasy, so it doesn't clog my pores further or leave an undesirable sheen. Because of this it is also perfect for priming my skin before I apply my makeup.
  • And lastly, and most importantly, because it is the first moisturiser I have found that does actually help my pimple prone skin.
